Alzheimer’s disease is the leading form of dementia and the 6th-leading cause of death of Americans -- more than breast cancer and prostate cancer deaths combined.
Yet it is societally treated like a tragic symptom of aging, and not the killer that it actually is.
Preventative research, including brain scans of people with parents and grandparents with Alzheimer’s disease, are basically non-existent, with “diet and exercise” often listed as the main pieces of advice for keeping the disease at bay.
We have no real answers as to what triggers the disease, how soon it starts or if genetics truly play a role. That's why I'm here - to change the trajectory for the next generations of potential Alzheimer's patients.
