Performer
Katie has been performing since she was old enough to walk and talk, often "directing" plays that starred her reluctant little brothers and neighborhood friends. She took theatre, voice and piano lessons as a child and teen, starring in several community and school productions that culminated in her starring role as Sandra Dee in her high school's production of Grease.
Following high school, Katie attended Ball State University where she studied Musical Theatre and Creative Writing. She performed in, stage managed and directed several shows in college, including The Vagina Monologues (twice). After college, she starred in the leading role of Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum before "going dark" on stage for 13 years.
Katie returned to the stage in the fall of 2019 in a production of The Juniper Tree, in the role of Mother, at the Viera Studio for the Performing Arts. She starred in several more shows there, including in the roles of Mary Jo Kincaid in Piece of My Heart and Meredith Parker in Bat Boy! The Musical. With her co-stars there, she starred in three Orlando Fringe Festival productions -- originating the roles of Helga in the Untold Story of Hansel and Gretel and Bad/Nightclub Belle in Happily Ever After Dark. She also directed the Fringe original show, Frigorific, which debuted in Orlando and then went to New York City and Los Angeles for additional shows.
In January 2023, Katie starred in the ensemble in Evita at The Heneger Center in Melbourne, Florida. She is part of the ensemble in the upcoming production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at The Henegar.
Katie has also appeared in national advertisements for RunDisney and Echelon Fit. She has done voiceover work for PayPal and SmartBrief and several podcasts. Check out her Backstage and Casting Networks profiles.
